VERA G. PRICE

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Vera Belle Grimes Price, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Hillside Nursing Home in Wake Forest.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Seven Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Phillip Garrett and longtime friend, the Rev. Elliott Hill, officiating. Burial will follow in Seven Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Vera was born in Pender County Jan. 30, 1921, to the late Joseph Arthur Grimes and Maggie Harrell Grimes. She was married to the late Raymond Price.
Mr. and Mrs. Price lived in Goldsboro after their marriage and moved to Wallace in 1954. In 1965, they moved to Camp Jubilee Road in Seven Springs.
Vera was a graduate of Rose Hill High School. She attended Hoyle Business School in Raleigh and was a bookkeeper, homemaker and most recently a receptionist at Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 1997.
She was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and deaconess.
Vera is survived by her sons, Dr. William R. "Bobby" Price and wife, Barbara, of Winston-Salem and Jesse Joseph Price and wife, Virginia, of Wake Forest; her daughter, Brenda Price Spin and husband, Dr. Frederick Spin, of Keene, N.H.; her grandchildren, William Price Jr. and wife, Margaret of Winston-Salem, Nicole Price Londono and husband, Miguel, of Winston-Salem, Dr. Joshua Spin and wife, Lonnie, of San Jose, Calif., Dr. Greg Spin and wife, Dr. Kay Drengler, of Grass Valley, Calif., Joseph Colcough and wife, Deidra, of Sophia, Christopher Colcough and wife, Nicole of Jacksonville, Fla., and Matthew Colcough and wife, Tara; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Samuel Grimes, Bertha Evans, William Grimes and Joseph Grimes.
The children of Vera Price would like to thank the staff of Hillside Nursing Home in Wake Forest for the excellent care given to their mother.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
