GARNER -- John Stephen "Steve" Casey, 51, passed away peacefully at his home Monday with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy Kursell Casey; daughter, Megan Casey Martin and husband, Chester, of Conway, Ark.; sons, Benjamin Everette Casey and wife, Claudia, of Norfolk, Va., Stephen Gerek Casey, Dylan Alexander Casey and Aaron Bruce Casey of the home; parents, Ben and Kay Casey of Goldsboro; father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Barbara Kursell of Morris, Ill.; grandchildren, Brian and Ashlyn Martin; and stepsisters, Barbara Casey Herrin of Summerville, S.C., and Beverly Casey Whiteside of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steve Casey to the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program, Box 3139, 200 Trent Drive, Durham, NC, 27710.
