BUD BUTTS

Walter Butts Jr. "Bud", 78, passed away Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Bud was born in Greene County June 27, 1930, to the late Walter Butts Sr. and Josephine Hamm Butts.
He was a retired plumber with J.H. Askins Plumbing and Heating.
Bud is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reba Young Butts; his daughters, Dianne Fields and husband, Ricky, of LaGrange, Teresa Oglesby and husband, Ladd, of Goldsboro and Kay Baker and husband, Ronnie, of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Rene Parks and husband, Chris, Dwayne Minshew and wife, Jennifer, Michael Oglesby and fiancee', Leah, Kelly Wilson and husband, Mark, Amy Sparks and husband, Jeff, and David Baker and wife, Jennifer; his great-grandchildren, Dale, Alex and Matthew Parks, Kimberly and Kyia Minshew, Avery Wilson, Kayla and Kellen Sparks and Dylan, Haley and Ethan Baker; his sisters, Lilla Gray Wade and Dorothy Maye Wade; and his brother, Joe William Butts. He is also survived by his honorary family, Tyani and Jay Cordiero and their children, Kyle and Cole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Faye Butts, three brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. and following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his home, 1312 N. Florida St., Goldsboro.
