Otha Lee Hairr, 83, Goldsboro, died Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Skinner and Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Frasher and the Rev. Charles Rambeau Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Brach Church Cemetery.
Otha was a graduate of Mingo High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European theater.
He was a retired driver license examiner with the state of North Carolina for 34 years and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nell W. Hairr of Goldsboro; two sons, Donald E. Hairr of Princeton and Phillip Cobb and wife, Sally, of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Julia Hairr of Morrisville and Phyllis Toler and husband, Terence, of Apex; four grandchildren, Michelle Beckon, Michael Hairr, Wesley Toler and Bradley Toler; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Skinner and Smith Funeral Home.
