JAMES R. DEMBY JR.

Retired U.S.A.F. Chief Master Sgt. James Roy Demby Jr., 78, passed away on Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. John Keefer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
Jim was born in Jefferson, S.C., on Aug. 14, 1930, to the late James R. Demby Sr. and Eunice Mae Roberts Demby. He retired from the United States Air Force with 26 years of service and was also retired from civil service. After serving his country for 26 years, he then fulfilled a lifelong dream to become a licensed pilot and later purchased a Cessna 172 for personal use. Once Jim became unable to fly his Cessna, he began to enjoy flying miniature airplanes and was a member of Wayne Miniature Aeronautics.
Jim is survived by his children, Jennifer Demby Keefer and husband, J.R., of Goldsboro, Jameson A. Broome of Kershaw, S.C., Rita F. Hamilton of Layton, Utah, Michael R. Demby of Kershaw, S.C., Lisa D. Feldman of Center Valley, Pa., and Wanlope Demby of Hatboro, Pa.; his grandchildren, Kristen, Jacob, Jared, Heather, Michael, Ryan, Mitchell, Kyle, Tyler, Jessica, Christopher, Justin and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edna S. Faulkenberry of Kershaw, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert A. Demby.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home.
