She worked for many years in food management at Hotel Goldsboro, retiring in 1974. She will be remembered for her love and generosity toward family and friends, independence, honesty, keen memory and business sense, wry humor, and enjoyment of handcrafts.

She is survived by her sister, Mabel Deans Mozingo of Goldsboro; her step-daughter, Ruby Crumpler Burce; and step-granddaughter, Cheryl Burce of Eau Clair, Wis.; niece, Betsy Jennette Mountcastle and husband, Dennis, of West Point, Va.; and nephew, Doug Jennette and wife, Marsha, of Raleigh.
The family wishes to thank Mrs. Crumpler's close friends who made it possible for her to remain in her home as she wished during her gradual decline in recent years. Also, we are grateful for the fine care she received during her brief stays at Wayne Memorial Hospital and the Brian Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
