FRANCIS H. BATSON II

NEWTON GROVE -- Francis Hollingsworth Batson II, 62, passed away Friday at Wake Medical Center.
A service to celebrate Francis' life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Shaffer officiating.
Francis was born in Wayne County to Kathryn Seymour Batson of Goldsboro and the late Francis Hollingsworth Batson. He was retired from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. Francis attended New Hope School and graduated from Goldsboro High School. He was also a graduate of Wayne Community College and was a United States Army Veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War. Francis attended the Journey Church, where he was very active in the ministry.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Terry Batson and wife, Denise, of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.A. and Edna Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Va. 22038.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
