LAGRANGE -- Lois Cunningham Davis, 94, LaGrange, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Davis was born September 11, 1914, in Wayne County to the late Thomas and Sudie Herring Cunningham. She was wife of the late Lonnie Daniel Davis and was a member of Grant's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Stacy officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Pineview Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sisters, Ethel M. Cunningham and Hazel C. Newsome, both of LaGrange; three nieces and a nephew, Sandra Foss and husband, George, of LaGrange, Linwood Earl Newsome and wife, Marjorie Rose, of Goldsboro, Jean Wood and husband, Earl, of LaGrange and Marie Evans of LaGrange.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Cunningham and Reba Cunningham Sutton; niece, Faye Newsome Wade; and a nephew, Carey Keith Sutton.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Foss, 402 Lake Pines Drive, LaGrange.
