GLENN V. WORLEY
Nov. 4, 1945-Sept. 11, 2008
On September 11, 2008, Glenn Worley, 62, embarked on his last great adventure. Glenn was a strong willed man who embraced each new challenge and lived each new day to the fullest. He will be forever remembered and forever missed.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday between 6 and 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church. His final resting place will be at Wayne Memorial Park.
We will all be together again.....
Glenn was a son, husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy will be cemented through his two daughters and their husbands and one son: Lisa and Matthew Gunn, Lori and DJ Medeiros and Seth Holt. He had three wonderful, and one on the way, grandchildren, Madison Gunn, Martin Gunn and Laila Medeiros.
Glenn is also survived by his wife, Donna Stewart; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Harold Martin; Mother-in-law Lib Stewart and a number of nieces, nephews and his beloved K-9 Jacki Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his brother the late Alton G. Worley.
Glenn was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Johnston County to Leslie "Jock" and Clarissa Surles Worley. He retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol after 30 years of dedicated service. Glenn lived a full life with many passions and many friends. He had a special place in his heart for children and the elderly and assisted them at every opportunity.
Glenn was a 32nd degree Mason and a Sudan Shriner who was most happy transporting crippled children, running his Mini-Rig in parades to benefit crippled children and spending time with the ones he loved. He was a faithful member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.
