Benjamin Hubert Lewis Jr., 78, passed away Monday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Fred Clark officiating. Visitation will follow immediately after the funeral service. Burial will be Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Lewis was born in Norfolk, Va., to the late Benjamin Hubert Lewis Sr. and Tessie Hill Lewis. Mr. Lewis was the husband of Mary Ethel Outlaw Lewis and was a retired mail carrier from the U.S. Post Office. He was also retired from the North Carolina National Guard and a lifetime member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter B.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ethel Lewis; three daughters, Pamela Lewis Price and husband, Tim, of Rosewood, Gwen Lewis Wall and husband, Mike, of Pikeville and Beverly Lewis Wright and husband, Todd, of Pikeville; special cousins, Bill Allen of Raleigh, A.G. Allen of Goldsboro and Dwight Allen of Raleigh; 12 grandchildren, Timothy Price of Greenville, Jessica and Rebecca Price of Rosewood, Brandon Jones of Grantham, Emily Smith of Pikeville, Chris Wall of Rocky Mount, Jeffrey Wall of Pikeville, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Victoria, Joshua and Benjamin Wright of Pikeville; and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Tyler Jones of Grantham.
Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening immediately following the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
