FLORENCE, S.C. -- A funeral service for Norma Walker Snead, wife of James T. "Tom" Snead, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Litts officiating. Entombment will be in Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Empty Stocking Fund, c/o Salvation Army, P.O. Box 4108, Florence, S.C. 29501.
Mrs. Snead, 66, died Sunday at her residence. She was born in Danville, Va., to the late Charles and Mona Gibson Walker. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Deaver and Joyce Bailey.
She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Mrs. Snead was in banking most of her life and worked at BB&T on Second Loop Road, retiring in 2006 after 16 years service. She was an avid reader, liked to do crossword puzzles and was a sports enthusiast.
Among her survivors, in addition to her husband, are sons, Scott Snead and wife, Melissa, of Vidalia, Ga., Andy Snead and wife, Allison, of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Zachary and Aiden Snead; sisters, Brenda Andrews and Sandra Bowen, both of Danville, Va.
