Maggie Gurley Hall, 88, of Columbia, S.C. died Saturday. She was born in the Indian Springs community and spent most of her life there. Ms. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, Debro and Nannie Gurley, twin brother Emmett Gurley, brothers Gordon and Wesley Gurley, infant brother and sister Edward and Edna Gurley, stepson Thomas Hall, and most recently, her daughter Edna Pickral.
Services will be at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Piney Grove Cemetery near Seven Springs.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wargel and husband, Larry, of Columbia S.C.; son-in-law Percy Pickral of Richmond, Va.; brother, A.D. Gurley and wife, Mollie, of Surf City, N.C.; grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Singleton Hood and husband, Jeffrey of Charleston, S.C., Amy Kegley and husband, James, of Ashland, Va., Mia Freeman and husband, Douglas, of Martinez, Ga., Brian Pickral and wife, Cristen, of Glen Allen, Va., and Brian Warge and wife, Jennifer of Clovis, N.M.; 10 great-grandchildren, Chase, Jennifer, Joshua and Wesley Hood, Kathlyn and Laina Freeman, twins James and Joshua Kegley, and Christopher and Emma Wargel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Barwick, Jonathan Carter, Chris Gurley, Joe Allen Joyner, Adam Kleinfelter, and Jessie Willis.
