MOUNT OLIVE -- Georgia Corine Jones, 83, 480 Jim Best Road, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Northeast Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Olive, with the Rev. Jessie Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Jones was born in Duplin County to the late Hilton and Ruth Faison. She was a member of Northeast Free Will Baptist Church where she served as a mother of the church, usher and sang in the choir.
She is survived by three sons, Hilton Jones of LaGrange, Jessie Jones of Mount Olive and Kenneth Jones of Dudley; daughters, Olie Jean Owens of Monroe, Earnestine Griffin of Elizabeth City and Velma J. Montgomery of Fayetteville; brother, Lee Chester Faison of Waterbury, Conn.; sister, Estelle Kelly of Mount Olive; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ollin Jones.
Viewing will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence.
