LELIA K. FAYNE

CHAPEL HILL -- Lelia Knick Fayne, 96, Britthaven of Chapel Hill, formerly of 1054 Queen Ann St., Burlington, died Monday after a period of declining health. She was born in Rockbridge County, Va., and was the daughter of the late John and Bessie Knick.
She retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She was survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Fayne and wife, Joann, of Pikeville, Joe Fayne and wife, Vickie, of Pikeville and Hedrick Fayne of Graham; daughters and son-in-law, Jane Pennell and husband, Lynn, of Conover and Bobbie Davis of Hickory; 10 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lori Elliott and a half sister, Celia Dishman, both of Danville, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hedrick Odell Fayne Sr.; parents; and grandsons, Joel and Reuben Fayne.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bob Stepheson and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
