JOHN R. LANE SR.

MOUNT OLIVE -- John R. Lane Sr., 90, died Wednesday. He was the son of the late John Wright Lane and Emma Lane. Mr. Lane was a retired police officer with the Mount Olive Police Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise L. Jackson.
Graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive, with the Rev. Jimmy Swinson officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae F. Lane and a son, Bob Lane of Wilmington.
The family will be meeting at the home, 122 W. Station St., Mount Olive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Olive Police Department Benevolent Fund.
Arrangements are with Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive.
