MARGUERITE M. THORNTON

HIGH POINT - Marguerite M. Thornton, 85, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Friday at Pennybyrn at Maryfield.
She was born to Frank Leroy Medlin and Ruby Dawkins Medlin in Richmond County and graduated from Hamlet High School. Mrs. Thornton was previously employed with BB&T in Goldsboro and was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Medlin and two grandchldren, Joe and Diane Thornton. In 1949 she married Charles Elmer Thornton who preceded her in death in 2001.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the family receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her son, Charles Joseph Thornton and wife, Susan, and their four children, Jarod, Parker, Katherine and Julia Faith Thornton, all of High Point; two sisters, Frankie Zwirblia and Carol Sears of Goldsboro.
