WARSAW - William Gordon Britt Jr., known as "W.G.," died Tuesday at his home.
Born to the late William Gordon Britt Sr. and wife, Lillie McLeod Britt, of Lumberton, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Coming from Parkton in Robeson County, he made Warsaw his home in 1948. He operated Duplin Trading for many years, was a member of the Rotary Club, and a member of Warsaw Baptist Church. Mr. Britt was, also, a funeral director, being one of the charter members to establish Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Miller Britt, of the home; one son, William Gordon "Bill" Britt, III., of Redlands, Calif.; one daughter, Kay Britt Ingold of Wilmington; two sisters; Aleene Britt McRae of Lumberton and Irene Britt of Florence, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jason and Joshua Jones, Bill and Benjamin Britt.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, to be announced by Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, Inc.
