Carl Douglas Davis, 65, of 306 Sleepy Creek Road died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bear Creek Association Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St. in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at First Congregational Church Cemetery in Dudley.
Mr. Davis was born to the late Myer Wool and Ruby Davis. For much of his career he was a Science teacher with Goldsboro High School and eventually retired from the Wayne County Public School System.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Boseman Davis; one son, Myer Davis and wife, Dana, of Smithfield; one brother, Emmitt Davies and wife, Bezarah, of Severn, Md.; three grandchildren, Alexander Davis, Mikayla Davis and Icesis Bryant Davis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his son, Lamar Davis.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m. at Bear Creek Association Headquarters. The family will be receiving friends at the residence at other times.
