Carlton "Monk" Anthony Williams, 57, of 150 Stage Coach Lane, Dudley, went home to be with the Lord Thursday at his home.
A celebration of life to honor Carlton "Monk" Williams will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. at United In Christ Church in Goldsboro. The Rev. Ira Williford and Dr. Robert Winstead will officiate.
"Monk" was born in Mount Olive, North Carolina to the late Ollie Afton Williams and Laura Elizabeth Richardson. He was a 1968 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and was owner and operator of "Monk's" Mobile Home Maintenance.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy A. Williams; two sons, Dustin Martens of Port Orange, Florida and Ryan Martens and his wife, Nicole, of Seven Springs; one daughter, Kari Collier and her husband, Chris, of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Kayla Collier, Matthew Collier and Alyssa Martens, who were dear to their "Pa Pa's" heart; two brothers, Ollie Shelton Williams, of New Bern and his twin brother, Clayton E. Williams and his wife, Joan, of Dudley; three sisters, Gwen P. Pullis and her husband, George, of Hallandale, Fla., Hilda Summerlin and her husband, Jim, of Newton Grove and Kathy W. Allen and her husband, Greg, of Goldsboro; a brother-in-law, Jack P. King of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Naomi B. Williams of Hampton, Va.; nine nephews, Eddie Pennington, David Pennington, Ned Summerlin, Randy Summerlin, Billy Summerlin, Mike Williams, Jackie King, Clayton "Clay" Williams, Jr. and Bobby Ray Williams; nine nieces, Pat Bibby, Frances Ellis, Audrey Quail, Jackie Suggs, Ann Summerlin, Frances Hebert, Christy Lewis, Sherry Paschal and Tracy Willette; and a very special friend, David Eatmon.
In addition to his parents, Ollie Afton and Laura "Bessie" Williams, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brother, James R. "Buster" Williams and two sisters, Sarah Frances Williams and Dorothy W. King.
The family will receive friends following the service on Monday evening at United In Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road in Goldsboro and other times at the residence, 150 Stage Coach Lane.
