Caldonia "Callie" Matthis Carr, 87,105 Don St., died in Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center Wednes-day.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Grove Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Shook and the Rev. Frank Turner officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1918 in Sampson County, Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Matthis Sr. and Sudie Mae Peterson Matthis. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a former employee with Leder's Brothers Department Store. She was the widow of the Rev. Willie O. Carr.
She is survived by two sons: Bill Carr of Kinston and Jimmy Carr of Clinton; two brothers, Luvy Matthis of Goldsboro and O. L. Matthis of Clinton; one sister, Maxine Matthews of Clinton; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert Matthis and A. T. Matthis Sr., and two sisters, Bertha Matthis and Myrtice Ezzell.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the funeral at the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her son at 4423 Keener Rd. Clinton.
Arrangements are being handled by Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
