FARMVILLE -- George Mitchell Steppe, 62, died Wednesday.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Church Street Chapel of Farmville Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Rodebaugh and Pastor Oscar Coggin officiating. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery of Farmville.
He was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Pitt County and attended Farmville schools.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Steppe.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Steppe of the home; a son, Joey Steppe; a daughter, Michelle Duyck; six grandchildren; four sisters, Grace Tyson of Washington, Edna Mewbon of Snow Hill, Bertie Mangham of Martinez, Ga., and Janie Vandiford of Greenville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Farmville Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
