LAGRANGE -- Parrott Smithwick Suggs, 81, 4213 Harold Sutton Road, died Saturday at his home.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Brinkley and the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Suggs was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sutton Suggs. He was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, a veteran of the Navy and a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by a son, Harvey Suggs and wife, Wendy, of LaGrange; daughter, Sue Ann Harris and husband, David, of Goldsboro; brother, Leamon Suggs of LaGrange; two sisters, Olia Lee Sugg of LaGrange and Emma Ruth Cox of Kinston; five grandchildren, Mark Harris and wife, Jamie, Rebecca Harris, Ted Suggs, Luke Suggs and Kelly Suggs; and special friend, Mary Hardy of Kinston.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Stanley Sutton, 1832 Sutton Shortcut Road, LaGrange, 28551.
Arrangements are being handled by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
