Joanne Marie Bivens, 57, died Monday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at 10 in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.
She was the daughter of Dorothy Browne and stepdaughter of the late Byron Gorton.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bivens is survived by her husband, Edward Bivens; one son, Edward Bivens Jr. of Mount Olive; one daughter, Lisa Myers of Grantham; one sister, Jacqueline Burdick of Washington, Mich.; and four grandsons
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at other times at the residence.
