MARGARET S. PRICE
Nov. 5, 1926 - Aug. 1, 2006
PRICETOWN -- It was soon after noontime on Tuesday that Mrs. Margaret Sutton Price died peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family.
Her life of 79 years was one of loving and faithful service to others.
A service to celebrate her life will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7 at Tyndall Funeral Chapel in Mount Olive with the Rev. Derik Davis officiating. Grandson Trey Aycock will share memories of his grandmother during the service. Following the service, the family will remain at the funeral home to greet relatives and friends, and at other times, they will do so at the Price residence in the Pricetown community near Seven Springs.
A graduate of Seven Springs High School and Louisburg College, in addition to her long tenure as accountant and office clerk at D.M. Price & Sons Inc., she was a homemaker and farm wife, and a good neighbor to all. She was a long-time member of Zion United Methodist Church, in which she was very active. She is remembered as an avid fan of Carolina basketball.
Daughter of the late William and Beatrice Mozingo Sutton, Mrs. Price was the widow of Rupert A. Price and was also preceded in death by a young daughter, Margaret Jill Price, and a brother, Elton Hardy Sutton.
She is survived by a son, William B. "Bill" Price of Seven Springs; a daughter, Pamela Price Aycock and her husband, Wayne Aycock of Pikeville; a brother, Billy R. Sutton and his wife, Beulah, of LaGrange; five "prized" grandchildren, Trey Aycock and his wife, Lori, of Greensboro, Meredith Peters and her husband, Mike, of Pikeville, Will Aycock of LaGrange, Alex Price and his wife, Lori, of New Bern, and Alicia Martin and her husband, Jamie, of LaGrange; five "adorable" great-grandchildren, Emily Peters, Grant Aycock, Tate Aycock, Adam Price, and Noah Price; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
It was her wish that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to either the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834; or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (in honor of great-granddaughter, Emily Peters) c/o PIke's Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2494 Pikeville - Princeton Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
At times of parting, she would always say, "I'll see you next time!"
A Tyndall Service, Mount Olive.
