HERBERT T. CURDTS JR.

LAGRANGE -- Herbert T. "Bud" Curdts Jr., 66, died Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Milan, Tenn., and was the son of the late Herbert Theodore Curdts Sr. and Evelyn Marie Walls Curdts Henderson. He and his sister were raised in the Panama Canal Zone by their stepfather, the late John Henderson.
After retiring from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service, Mr. Curdts joined Premier Inc. as a Health Care Senior Management Consultant and retired from that company in 1999. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and the University of New York at Albany and was a senior member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Hospital Information and Management Systems Society. He was also a member of American Legion, LaGrange Rotary Club and the LaGrange Arts Council. He attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of La Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pelletier Curdts; one daughter, Sheila Curdts Leatham, and her husband, Dale Wade Leatham of Goldsboro; one son, Jeffery Dean Curdts, and his wife, Robin Alford Curdts, of Cary; three grandsons, Chase Curdts Daniel and Kyle Scott Daniel of Georgia and Collin Jeffery Curdts of Cary; and his sister, Evelyn Sue Hughlett, and her husband, Frank G. Hughlett of Goldsboro.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brad Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service, and other times at the residence.
