Mother Margaret Summers Garner, 75, of 1401 Lamplighter Circle, Kinston, died Sunday at Britthaven of Kinston.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Branch Me-morial Tab-ernacle, 500 Gulley St., with Pastor Terrance Pettway officiating. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alice Summers.
She is survived by four sons, James O. Garner Sr. of the home, Charles Garner of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John Summers of Charlotte, and Richard Garner of Jonesboro, Ga.; three daughters, Janice King and Arlene Gillins of Jacksonville, N.C., and Darlene Walker of Camp Lejuene; one brother, James Summers of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held today from 3 until 5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at the wake this evening from 7 until 8 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, LaGrange.
