WARSAW -- The funeral for Ernest Smith, 73, of 207 S. Cross St., will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Hines Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Dr. Navarro Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith was the son of the late Levie and Frances Oates Smith and was a retired machine operator with the Town of Warsaw.
He is survived by five sons, Donnell Smith and Ronnie Adams of New Haven, Conn., Levie Ernest Smith and Daniel Winston of New Bern and Howard Adams of New Mexico; two daughters, Annette Smith of New Haven, Conn., and Tisha Chestnutt of New Bern; one brother, Rev. Ralph Smith of Faison; three daughters, Annie Frederick of Warsaw, Margaret Bell of Goldsboro and Lola Smith of New Bern; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 6 today at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
The family will receive friends at the home of Annie Frederick, 158 Gaston St., Warsaw.
