FRANK VOGEN

Frank Christian Vogen, 80, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery in Dudley. The Reverend J. C. Whaley will officiate.
Mr. Vogen was born in Pennsylvania to the late Harry Vogen and Georgia Ann Pierce Vogen. He was the former owner of a motel and U-Haul moving company, and was a member of Sunset Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
He is survived by his wife, Allene Howell Lawhorn Vogen; a son, Frank Vogen Burger Jr., and his wife, Jerri of Richmond, Va.; two stepsons, Jimmy Lawhorn of Snow Hill and Richard "Ricky" David Lawhorn, and his wife, Betsy. of Rosewood; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Bedford, and husband ,Walt, of Pikeville; one grandchild; five step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Junior Lawhorn.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro, and other times at 1088 Mount Caramel Church Road, Pikeville.
