COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The funeral for Arzie Leola Smith West , 84, widow of Simirel T. West, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday June 20, 2006, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with interment at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. West passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006. She was born in Gilbert, S.C., on June 21, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Earl Smith and Mary Viola Keisler. She was a member of St. Mark U.M.C. Mrs. West retired after thirty-six years with Southern Bell Phone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Mrs. West is survived by daughters, Peggy West Westbrook, of Summerville, S.C., and Joyce West Lyons and husband, Mike, of Lexington, S.C.; grandchildren, Michael and Kristin Lyons of Lexington, S.C., and Leeann and Patricke Westbrook of Summerville, S.C.; sister, Edith Irene Bulkley of Durham, N.C.; half brothers, McKenzie, Joel, Howard, and Windell Smith; and half sisters, Dorlee Keisler, Matilda Warren, and Theressa Jumper.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2006. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 3200 Lyles Street, Columbia, S.C., 29201.
