Doris Smith Davis, 75, died Sunday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Mike Grady will officiate. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was a Wayne County native and was the daughter of the late Allen and Mamie Smith.
She is survived by one son, Billy Howard Vaughn, and his wife, Dale Lynn, of Midway, Tenn.; one daughter, Kathy Triplett of Goldsboro, and her fiancé, Buddy Helton, of Greenville, Tenn.; one sister, Carolyn Smith, and her husband, John, of Goldsboro; three brothers, James Smith, and his wife, Christine, Grover Smith and his wife, Katherine, all of Goldsboro, and Winston Smith of Stockbridge, Ga.; four grandsons, Billy Vaughn Jr. of Goldsboro and Allen Vaughn, Landon and Matt Williams of Midway, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Denise Atkins of Goldsboro; five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Destiny Vaughn and Layla, Justin and Darrion Atkins; a special niece, Sheila Stafford; and her pet, Princess.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Vaughn; a grandson, Donald B. Vaughn; two brothers, Malcolm Smith and Billy R. Smith; and a nephew, Gary Wayne Smith.
The family will receive friends at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church immediately following the funeral on Tuesday evening, and other times at the home of John and Carolyn Smith, 126 E W Lane in Goldsboro.
