SIDNEY BRANTLY

INDIANAPOLIS -- Sidney Kermit Brantly, 89, father of Dr. Philip K. Brantly of Goldsboro, died on Monday, May 29.
The funeral was held last Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Southeastern Church of Christ. Interment was in the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker.
Mr. Brantly was born in Post Oak, Texas, to the late James Dennis and Lucy Ola Brazeal Brantly. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 36 years, retiring to Indianapolis in 1979. He was an active member of Southeastern Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 12 years. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, playing golf and family activities.
In addition to his son, Mr. Brantly is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Brantly; another son, Dr. James M. Brantly; one daughter, Lou Ann Black; one sister, Peggy Cleveland; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends last Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel.
