WILSON -- The Rev. Joseph H. Ingram, 71, died Tuesday at his home.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Wilson, followed by a time of sharing with the family. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Kenly Cemetery.
He was a Free Will Baptist minister for 49 years and had served as pastor of several churches in Wayne County. He graduated from Barton College and earned his doctorate from Covington Theological Seminary. He also retired from the North Carolina National Guard as a lieutenant colonel. He was an avid sports fan and founded an Officials' Booking Agency for schools in eastern North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Flowers Ingram; one daughter, Becky Huerta-Vega of Kenly; one son, Michael "Mike" Ingram, and his wife, Cindy, of Wilson; two granddaughters, Amanda Huerta and Olivia Ingram; and one brother, Wayne Ingram of Four Oaks.
Memorial donations may be made o the First Free Will Baptist Church, 4865 Nash St., NW, Wilson, N.C., 27896.
