The funeral for Louise "Lou" Wade Howell, 76, of Fremont, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The Rev. A.G. Smith will conduct the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell died Tuesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A Wayne County native, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Prentice Wade and Sallie Miller Wade and the widow of Johnnie David "Herbie" Howell. She was a member of Watery Branch Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David Anthony "Tony" Howell and Darlene Potter Howell of Fremont; two sisters, Dorothy Lockamy of Kinston and Sally Ruth Scott of LaGrange; one brother, Ben Wade of Ayden; and her grandson, Blake A. Howell of Goldsboro.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman Wade, Aaron Wade, Cecil Wade and Albert Wade; and three sisters, Mary Wade, Gertrude Nipple and Mavis Anderson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Tony and Darlene Howell, 834 Norwayne School Road, Fremont.
