ELWOOD SMITH

Elwood Lee "Dick" Smith, 85, of 2313 U. S. Hwy. 13 North, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in Wayne County to the late Jasper Smith and Eula Parks Smith. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Smith was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be today at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Grady and Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Betty Gene Smith; his daughter, Karen Taylor of Goldsboro; his sons, Bobby D. Smith and wife, Beverly, Glenn R. Smith and wife, Donna and Kenneth E. Smith and wife Phyllis, all of Goldsboro; his sisters, Charlotte Johnson, Sarah Taylor, Margie Newsome and Barbara Grant, all of Goldsboro; his brother, Russell Smith of Goldsboro; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sister Janelle Scallone.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Woods Grove PFWB Church, 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends today following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
