John Harding Long, 57, of Faison, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Kirkland will officiate. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Faison Cemetery.
Mr. Long was the son of the late Robert Fulton and Alice Smith Long. He was a member of the former Emmanuel Baptist Church and was employed at Cox-Edwards Co.
He is survived by one son, John Michael Long of Washington, D.C.; his former wife of 27 years, Cathy Long of Faison; two brothers, Tommy Long of Clinton and Jerry Long of Faison; and a sister, Carolyn Long Hinson of Faison.
Another brother, Glen Long, preceded him in death.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service tonight. At other times the family will be at the home of Judy Parks, 611 William Thornton St., Faison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life team of the donor's choice.
