Helen Sauls Van Benthuysen, 80, died Wednesday afternoon at her home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with Rev. Tom Harper and Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating.
Mrs. Van Benthuysen was born in Wayne County to the late Wyatt C. Sauls and Eva West Sauls and was the widow of Richard Van Benthuysen Sr. She retired as a medical secretary and was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Goldsboro Downtown Lions Ladies Auxiliary and the Town and Country Home Extension Club.
She is survived by one son, Richard Van Benthuysen Jr., and his wife, Lavonda Thomas Van Benthuysen, of Raleigh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewel and Arnold Chestnut of Princeton; Margaret Anderson of Goldsboro; and Patsy and Gary White of Goldsboro and Edwin R. Best of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Dr. Betsy Van Benthuysen; Trey Van Benthuysen and wife, Gina; Robin Peacock; and Haley Peacock; and one great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Van Benthuysen.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna V. Peacock, and a sister, Eva W. Best.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence at 1610 Darby Road.
