Home Going Services for Sarah Jane Edwards will be held Thursday at noon at White Oak Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, Pikeville. Pastor George Wiggins will officiate. Burial will be in the Spruill Cemetery.
Ms. Edwards died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was preceded in death by her only son, Cornell Edwards, and is survived by her daughter-in-law; Maxine Rowe Edwards of Goldsboro; a grandson, James Edwin Edwards of Goldsboro; two granddaughters, Sharlene (Jimmy) Bryant Jr. of Goldsboro and Emma (Anthony) Green of Charleston, S.C.; a devoted niece, Doris Joyner of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Treviette (Reginald) Turner, Zaneta Brown, Marc Edwards, Gjami Green, Kelly Green and Anthony Green Jr.; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Gladys Davis, and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at White Oak Grove OFWB Church.
A viewing will be held today from 3 until 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro. The family will be at the home of Maxine Rowe Edwards at 223 Graham St., Goldsboro.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
