IRIS DAVIS YELVERTON
September 20, 1931 - April 14, 2006
BLACK CREEK -- Iris Davis Yelverton, 74, of Black Creek died Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Black Creek United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont. The Rev. Rani Woodrow will officiate.
She was a graduate from Atlantic Christian College and taught for thirty years at Winstead School and Toisnot Middle School in Wilson.
Mrs. Yelverton is survived by four sons, Elmer Barnes Yelverton Jr. of Harrisonburg, Va., Harold Yelverton and wife, Janie, Jim Yelverton and wife, Kathie all of Black Creek; Fred Yelverton and wife, Kimberly of Apex; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Osborne Davis of Hampton, Va., Merle Davis of Black Creek, Reuben Davis of Kinston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer B. Yelverton; two brothers, Jonathan Davis and Carl Davis.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and at other times the family will be at 6660 Penwright Road, Fremont.
The family requests that memorials be made to Black Creek United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 278, Black Creek, N.C. 27813.
