DONALD E. KIRBY
August 10, 1936-April 9, 2006
Donald Ezell Kirby, 69, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Gaffney, S. C., he was the son of James E. Kirby and the late Elanor Cumberford Kirby and the husband of Winnie L. Kirby. He retired from the United States Air Force and was the owner and operator of Wheels of Goldsboro. He was a member of the Tar Heel Twirlers Square Dance Club.
In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Kirby is survived by two sons, Ricky Kirby, and his wife, Susie, of Goldsboro and Edward Kirby, also of Goldsboro; his stepmother, Mary Kirby of Gaffney, S. C.; one brother, Stephen Kirby of Blacksburg, S. C.; two sisters, Naomi Smith of Tennessee and Gloria Smith of Kings Mountain; and two grandsons, Chad and Derek Kirby of Goldsboro.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. The family will remain afterward to receive friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
