GREENVILLE -- Edward "Eddie" Alton Worthington Jr., 57, of 100 South Warren Street, Greenville, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Eddie was self-employed in the home improvement sector. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1974. He was preceded in death by
his father, Edward Alton Worthington Sr. of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Maria L. Worthington of LaGrange; six sisters, Anna Fraley and husband, Rob of Greenville, Fla.; Ellen Preslik and husband, Don of Longwood, Fla.; Carole Taraska and husband, Joe of Lake Mary, Fla.; Linda Hines and husband Arlynn of LaGrange; Sharon Warren and husband, Jeff of Kinston, Barbara Rose and husband, Bill of Kinston. Eddie is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home of Maria Worthington, 207 N. Caswell St., LaGrange. Memorials may be made to First Missionary Baptist Church, 201 N. Caswell St., LaGrange, NC 28551.
