Shelton Scott, 64, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pikeville Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Mitchell will officiate.
Mr. Scott was born in Wayne County to the late Jackson Bernice Scott and Annie Mae Brock Scott. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from Lowe's Home Improvement.
He is survived by one son, Randy Scott, and his wife, Allyson, of Florence, S.C.; one daughter, Michelle Mayo, and her husband, Chris, of Winterville; two brothers, Jackson W. Scott of Greensboro and Lindsay Scott of Goldsboro; two sisters, Tillie S. Lawson of Wilmington and Kerna S. Wrinkle of Wilson; and four grandchildren, Jackson Scott, Daniel Scott, Scott Mayo and Nicolas Mayo.
Another brother, Edgar C. Scott Sr., preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at Pikeville Cemetery following the graveside service on Saturday.
