SMITHFIELD -- Maggie Mae "Peggy" Rose, 78, died Tuesday.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Beth Burton-Williams officiating.
Mrs. Rose was a native of Rocky Mount and was the daughter of the late LaFayette Williamson and Nannie Fuller Williamson. She worked for the Jerold Corporation for 20 years and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse "John" Rose, Jr., and a son, Durwood R. Rose.
She is survived by one son, Darius E. Rose of Smithfield; one sister, June Williamson Martin of Franklin; two brothers, I.K. Williamson of Goldsboro and LaFayette Williamson of Princeton; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
