LENWOOD CREECH

SMITHFIELD -- Lenwood Lee Creech, 90, died Wednesday at Britthaven of Smithfield.
The funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Rev. Frank Grubbs and the Rev. Donald Coates will officiate. Entombment will be at Crocker Cemetery.
Mr. Creech was born in Johnston County to the late Walter Preston and Nellie Mae Godwin Creech. He was the manager of Floyd C. Price and Sons Hardware in Selma until his retirement. For many years he was the secretary and treasurer for the Men's Bible Class of Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church. He also served as an usher for Selma Original Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maude Dupree Creech; daughters, Shelvie Creech Harris of Rocky Mount, and Betty Creech Wayanatsi of Selma; brother, Norwood Earl "Bud" Creech of Smithfield; sisters, Helen Creech Boyette of Kenly, and Gladys Creech Daughtry of Wilmington; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
