Ethel Howell Pate, 93, of 123 Stoney Creek Church Road, died today at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson will officiate. A private burial service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
A Wayne County native, Mrs. Pate was the daughter of the late William B. Howell and Addie Radford Howell and was the widow of Herbert Greshim Pate. She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, where she served in the ladies auxiliary and had been active in the church choir.
Survivors include one brother, W.C. "Billy" Howell of Goldsboro; one sister, Elizabeth H. Murray of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stedman Howell and Floyd Howell; and one sister, Dorothy Williams.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
