JAMES ROTH
CLINTON-- Retired Lt. Col. James Paul Roth, 85, of 190 Boykin Drive, died Thursday at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. today at Royall-Hall Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tony Joyner will officiate.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, with 23 years of service. He served in World War II, and the Korean Conflict. He later retired from the Employment Security Commission, in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn H. Roth; one daughter, Donna of New Hebron, Miss.; two sons, James Paul Roth of College Station, Texas and Samuel Victor of Jackson, Miss.; two stepsons; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret "Sis" McElroy.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
The family has asked that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
