Annie Mae Rice, 81, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Modestown, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Fletcher and Lola Lewis Gardner. She was the wife of the late Dewey Adams and the late Robert E. Rice and was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Lee Clauser. She was a member of Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Rice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Louie Brown of Goldsboro; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tracy and Chris Donithan of Goldsboro; two great-granddaughters, Brianna and Savana Donithan; two step-grandsons, Dwayne Brown of Austin, Texas and Joel S. Brown and his wife Kellie of Dallas, Texas; one step-great- granddaughter, Courtney Brown.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Barry House officiating. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Thursday evening and at other times the family will be at the home of Louie and Rebecca Brown, 227 US 13 South, Dudley.
