MARY L. LANE

The funeral for Mary L. Lane will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church of Christ. The Rev. Dwight Cannon will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
A 1953 graduate of Dillard High School, she graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1957 and retired from Delaware State University. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church and was active in several professional and civic organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Louella Lane, and one sister and two brothers.
Her survivors include one son, Eric C. Lane of Goldsboro; three sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Philadelphia, Marian Jones of Temple Hills, Md., and Janice Sharp of Humboldt, Tenn; one brother, Charles Lane of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends at the viewing from 7 until 8 tonight at Rhodes Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at 1107 N. James St., and the family will gather there prior to the service on Wednesday.
