MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Edna L. "Candy" Pigford, 43 of 109 S. Church St., will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Faison officiating. Burial will follow in the Carver Cemetery.

Miss Pigford died Saturday at her home.

She was the daughter of Edna C. Pigford and the late Alex J. Pigford and was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College. She was a former supervisor with Wayne Opportunity Center of Goldsboro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Sherry R. Pigford of the home; two brothers, Julius R. Pigford of Dudley and James A. Pigford of Fayetteville; four sisters, Linda C. Pigford and Betty J. Pigford of Mount Olive, and Joyce A. Mitchell and Kimberly L. Parker of Dudley; and one grandson.

The viewing will be today from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
