Joyce Bass Sauls Boswell, age 66, of the Belfast Community departed this walk of life on Sunday, January 22, 2006, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
The funeral was held on Tuesday evening at 7 in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, with Reverend Mike Williams officiating. A graveside service was held today at 1 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Boswell was born in Greene County on October 31, 1939, to the late William Thomas Bass and Florence Taylor Bass. She was retired from Cherry Hospital.
She is survived by her loving family, two sons, Tony Lee Sauls and his fiancée, Dawn Lodge, of Goldsboro and Mike Sauls and his wife, Allison, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Kathy Sauls Lane of Goldsboro; one brother, Edwin Bass of Pikeville; four grandchildren, Dustin Scott Sauls, Deana Layne Sauls, Amber Lane and Jacob Sauls; and one great-grandchild, Kameron Scott Sauls; and special friends, Rachel Holland and Jeannie Benton.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland Sauls; a son, Bruce Sauls; a daughter-in-law, Carla Dean Lane Sauls; and a son-in-law, Craig Lane.
The family received friends following the service at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine Street, Fremont
