Helen Pope Edgerton, 72, of 909 Mitchell Road, Dudley, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Johnston County to the late W. Guy and Inez Howard Pope and was married to Glenn Edgerton. She was an active member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Sasser officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis Edgerton of Castalia and Keith and Laura Edgerton of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Frank Pope of Kenly; and four sisters, Janice White of Wilson, Faye McClain, Cindy Hooks and Brenda Lewis, all of Kenly.
The family will be receiving friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, N.C., 27834.
